• Microsoft Windows 98 and Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Workstation and Mac Computers are not Support in RRS or ASP
• Microsoft Windows 2000 is NOT supported by Red River Sotware on the ASP server.
• Microsoft Windows XP Professional  with SP3 installed and Security Updates up to date.  (XP Home version not Supported)
• Microsoft Windows Vista Business or Ultimate (Vista Home Basic and Home Premium not Supported)
• Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate With SP1 (Windows 7 Starter and Home Premium are Not supported)
• Dual Core CPU or higher processor

Peer to Peer System

• Same System Requirements as listed for Single Users
• Red River Software recommends a two computer maximum peer to peer connection
• Red River Software is installed onto Main computer on peer to peer system
• Red River Software is installed onto Main computer on peer to peer system
• Slave computer we map drive letter to Main computer then setup Red River Software Icon pointing to that drive letter to run Red River Software on slave computer.
• Red River Software (Does Not Support) installing Red River Software on Main computer and Slave computer and sharing data directory.

Citrix Operating Systems

• Follow Windows 2003 / Windows 2008 Terminal Server Specs.

Printers

• Okidata 320 and 420 Parallel Text printers
• HP LaserJet’s should be connected direct to Server or to a Jet Direct Box if Networking LaserJet Printer.
• HP Wireless Printers not supported in Terminal Server environment.
• HP DeskJet’s and Office Jet’s and Photo Smart all in one HP printers (Not all supported in Windows 2003 / Windows 2008 Terminal Server and Citrix Server.  Check with Hewlett Packard to see if Compatible printer driver for networking printer.)
• Single User Computer install HP Printer driver for model of HP printer attached to your computer.
• RRS ASP customers with HP Printers must install the HP Universal Printing PCL 6 (V5.1) driver on their local computer (The Universal Printer Driver for specific models of printers can be downloaded from HP.com).
• Other Brand of Printers not supported in Red River Software.

Seiko Label Printers

• Model numbers 100 (1” labels), 200 (2” labels) or 240 (2” labels)
• Not supported on a Terminal Services network  (07-21-03)
• Hasn’t been tested through a Citrix environment (07-21-03)
• Works on stand alone machines

G-site

• A business class machine w/2 com ports
• Two internal factory 9-pin serial ports or 9 pin A/B switch box
• USB port for label printing
• If connecting to the till via Citrix, remote locations must have a static IP address

Ruby & Sapphire

• Must be cabled thru serial ports.
• Must be cabled to have PLUs controlled by Ruby.
• Needs MAXPLU NUMBER (under System Setup – Manager – Configuration) set to 10,000.  To change this, you have to have done EOD or  you will lose your daily sales.
• Usually defaulted to Com5, but can be set to any com ports.
• Must be running Ruby Link if the Back Office operating system is 64 Bit.
• Sapphire requires a dedicated network card in addition to the serial port.

Passport

• Must have a dedicated network card for communication with Passport Only.

Nucleus

• Must have a dedicated network card for communication with Nucleus Only.

LCR Meters

• Laptop hooked up to LCR Meters needs an internal Com Port on Laptop.

A/B Switch Box

If Male Switch Box, additional parts needed:
